Weekly unemployment claims report this morning were up 17K to 283K after declining 23K the prior week. However claims are falling; the 4 week average of claims over the last month was the lowest in 14 years.
Employment is improving albeit still most jobs are in the service sector, the lowest paying sector. It certainly feels like Clallam County employment is improving – just a gut feeling. I wonder if I’m alone in that perception.
